William G. Whittaker earned his undergraduate degree (B.A. 1979) from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his graduate degree (J.D. 1982) from The University of Tennessee and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1982. Mr. Whittaker began his practice of law in Matthews in 1988 with the firm and became a partner in the firm in 1998. Mr. Whittaker is licensed in North Carolina and his practice is focused primarily in the areas of domestic relations, family law and bankruptcy law. In 2003, Mr. Whittaker was presented with the Mecklenburg County Bar Association Award as the Lawyer Referral Service Member of the Year for distinguished service.
Mr. Whittaker is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and is a past chairman of the Public Information and Education Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar. Mr. Whittaker has recently completed serving three-year terms on the Board of Directors of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mr. Whittaker is currently an officer of the Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club.
Mr. Whittaker concentrates his practice in Domestic, Bankruptcy and Workers Compensation Law.
