U20 Vietnam 1-3 U20 Iran: The Final Group C Defeat and a Price That May Last Until the 2031 Qualifiers

It was the third consecutive defeat in the campaign, meaning no berth at the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup finals. For the players, the pain was visible. Head coach Yutaka Ikeuchi had seen his team play well in the first half, even score, but they could not maintain that level in the second half. The match exposed familiar issues. U20 Vietnam were brave early, pressing and trying to build from the back. But U20 Iran had more experience and knew how to raise intensity after the interval.
